James 1:19–27
Listening & Doing

What does it mean to truly respond to God’s Word?

In this message, Listening & Doing, Pastor Justin Hardcastle continues the James: Faith & Works series by teaching from James 1:19–27. James challenges believers not only to hear the Word, but to receive it with humility and respond with obedience.

This message reminds us that God’s Word is not meant simply to inform us; it is meant to transform us. Real faith listens carefully, responds humbly, controls its words, cares for others, and lives out the truth of Scripture in everyday life.

James teaches that a faith that works is a faith that acts. We are called to be doers of the Word, not hearers only. When we respond to God’s Word with obedience, our faith becomes visible in our words, choices, relationships, and actions.

At River of Life, we believe the Gospel of Jesus still changes lives, breaks addictions, restores families, and brings hope to every person.

If this message encourages you, share it with someone who wants to grow in obedience and live out their faith.
