Dear River of Life Family and Friends,

Greetings from River of Life in South Hill, VA!

We are so grateful for all that God is doing in and through our church. Even as January and February brought snow and some unexpected challenges, the Lord has been faithful every step of the way. Through weather delays and winter obstacles, God has sustained us, strengthened us, and continued to move in powerful ways. We truly serve a faithful God!

One of the greatest blessings we are seeing right now is growth. Our church family is growing, and we are thankful for every new face, every new family, and every life being touched by the Gospel. There is a renewed sense of excitement and purpose as we step into this season together.

We have also launched a new sermon series titled “Redeeming Your Time.” This series has been both challenging and encouraging as we learn how to steward our days, priorities, and calling in a way that honors Christ. The conversations and testimonies coming out of this series have been incredibly impactful.

Looking ahead, we have so many incredible events planned in the coming months. From outreach opportunities to ministry development, there is so much to be excited about. We believe God is positioning River of Life for a powerful season of impact in our community.

One area we are especially passionate about right now is the revamping of our children’s ministry. We are working diligently to shape our Sunday mornings into the vibrant, Christ-centered experience we envision. Once our Sunday morning ministry is fully where we want it to be, we will be launching a Thursday night children’s ministry, which will also include our pre-teens and teens.

Our heart is not only to minister to children, but to disciple our pre-teens and teens into strong followers of Jesus. They will be trained to serve, including learning how to run children’s ministry media. Our long-term vision is to see these young leaders helping to run our Sunday morning services — assisting with lights, sound, and live streaming — developing both spiritual maturity and practical ministry skills.

As we continue to grow and expand, we recognize how vital partnership is. We are prayerfully asking for people both within our church and outside our fellowship to partner with us:

As we look to the life of Christ for principles of time management, we notice that Jesus always ensured his “yes” was “yes,” from the smallest to the biggest commitments. He also fought to block out noise and create room for silence, stillness, and reflection, which we see all throughout the Gospels as he retreated to “lonely places.”

It's time to start inviting people to Easter Sunday Service at River of Life here in South Hill, VA. Easter is always a special time to invite your family, friends, coworkers, and anyone else to come hear the transformational Word of God! 

We hope you will take time this over the next several weeks to join us in prayer, and to invite as many people as possible to our Easter Sunday Service. 

Join us at River of Life Ministries for our weekly Worship Service. You do not want to miss out on meeting the wonderful people within our congregation who love to worship the Lord, hear God's Word, and are dedicated to reaching their community with the message of Jesus Christ.

Join us for a church yardsale to help raise funds for our church. 

Join us for a Church Work Day at River of Life on Saturday, March 21st at 9:00 a.m. We’ll be gathering at the church, located at 229 Windsor Street, South Hill, VA 23970, to work together in caring for and improving our church home.

There will be a variety of projects both inside and outside the building, so there’s something for everyone! Whether you’re handy with tools, enjoy organizing and cleaning, or simply want to lend a helping hand, your time and effort will make a difference.

Join us for a very special Donut Sunday! Enjoy your favorite kind of donuts, and have as many as you would like. Invite a friend too, maybe you know someone who enjoys donuts, why not invite them to church to have a donut with you, and to hear the life-changing message of Jesus Christ! Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

Come join us for a night of worship and reflection on Good Friday, April 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at River of Life located at 229 Windsor Street, South Hill, VA 23970. We invite all people from our church, our community, and every other Bible believing church in our area to join us in partaking together in this special moment. 

Come join us as we continue to reflect on the sacrifice of Jesus leading up to His Resurrection with the movie, Son of God on April 4th beginning at 1:30 p.m. (the movie will start promptly). 

Come join us and bring your family and friends with you for our Easter Sunday Service at  11:00 a.m. here at River of Life. Come celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ! 

There will be an Easter Egg hunt for the kids directly after service.
